Find an event near you!

On the morning of Friday 9th November 2018, two days before Armistice Day, we will hold a series high profile, simultaneous INSPIRE events that will take place in Cathedrals and other major public venues around the UK and Ireland, designed for children and young people.

These events will mark the centenary of the end of the ‘Great War’ and will be used to inspire a new generation to take positive action towards peace and conflict resolution in their local communities and personal relationships.

Our ‘flagship’ events are being designed to inspire hundreds of other local events in school halls, church buildings, mosques, community centres etc., across the country.

Why not hold your own event?

We are inviting anyone who has the vision, creativity or initiative to take part! We want as many people as possible to hold INSPIRE events on this day to use the unique opportunity of remembrance to commit to working towards peaceful integrated communities and to celebrate what can be achieved together. There are no rules, be as creative as you like but we want to hear from you if you are planning on joining the movement!

We will be creating a guide with ideas and resources for the event itself including ideas for what you can include, a suggested running order, ways to reach out to young people in your community and how to promote your event.

If your are intending to hold your own event, please do let us know and we will add your to our nationwide map and send you our inspirational events guide, packed with ideas and suggestions to make sure your event is a success.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR EVENT

No matter who you are – get involved today!

Schools

If you are a school, why not work with neighbouring schools (not just those within your organisation!) to hold a joint assembly and invite local community members to take part.

Community Leaders

If you are a youthworker or faith leader, why not consider collaborating with your local schools or hosting them in your place of worship that day to mark Armistice and showcase the work young peace builders are doing in your community.

Civic Leaders

If you are in a positon of civic responsibility (police, Local Council or Children’s and Adult Services etc.) why not consider bringing different community groups together and hosting an event in your civic centre or town hall, including young people to share their work and hopes and aspirations for your towns and cities.

#INSPIRE2018

However, more importantly we want you to share your plans, photos and videos from the event on the day by using the hashtag #INSPIRE2018 and by sharing your work, ideas and shared pledges with us.
